The Association “Elaia Lesvos Island” is co-organizing with the North Aegean Region the 1st International Olive Festival – Conference, entitled ELIA Lesvos Confest, on 23-25 September 2022 in Lesvos.
ELIA Confest, is an innovative form of a multi-thematic event, combining the scientific dimension of a Conference, with the cultural character of a Festival, but also a thematic event for Olive Tourism, which will move along the following axes:

• Olive and education

• Olive and the environment

• Olive and culture

• Olive and gastronomy/health

• Olive and touristic promotion

• Olive and ways of increasing sales of olive products

The first two days will be dedicated to a scientific and academic conference on the olive, covering science, technology, environment, health, modern cultivation trends and marketing. Special attention will be paid to the development, tourism, culture, sustainability, links with the primary sector, local gastronomy and education.
The third day of the conference will be exclusively dedicated to the gastronomic experiences that Olive Tourism has the potential to offer on the island and will be attended by representatives from tourism agencies as well as specialized opinion leaders (influencers).
Leading Greek and foreign scientists will share their experience and knowledge with the participants of the Conference-Festival. Through their participation in the conference and their visit to the island, they will get to know the genuineness of its inhabitants, the unique beauty of the landscape, its gastronomic culture and hospitality, while they will taste the uniqueness of Lesbian Olive Oil.
The speeches of the Conference, with simultaneous translation, will be attended FREE of charge, with physical presence by the residents of the island and interested parties from all over Greece. The Olive Oil Association of Lesvos Island is issuing an open invitation for participation/attendance.
