The Idea
Ideas which express the needs of today and hopefully of tomorrow, outline a course in history with the acquisition of knowledge and experience. For Greece and its people, the olive tree represents not only a sacred tree producing a nutritious and aromatic food but also a symbol associated with Greek civilization and peace. As such it was presented as a trophy (olive branch) to the winners in all the Olympic contests.
In Greece today the cultivation of olive trees is evident in most parts of the country. Continuous efforts in specific methods of production are being made to sustain the quality of extra virgin olive oil (the epitome of olive oil). Our focus is on disseminating the art of olive oil production, of the highest quality – extra virgin – and on the development of an open channel of communication between the producer and consumer.
The history of the cultivation of olive trees is intricately meshed with man’s development and his respect and devotion to the art of olive oil production. Our extensive search in Greece for the different varieties of olives and special brands for extra virgin olive oil resulted in the quality that Epitome represents and offers.
Dimitris Sarantopoulos
Dimitris Sarantopoulos is a high-level professional with many years of experience in retail and sales management. He is the founder and operational manger of the company Olive Epitome. He is a member of the Kalamata Olive Oil Taste Laboratory of the University of the Peloponnese, officially accredited by the International Olive Oil Council, a position that allows him to be continuously trained in the organoleptic evaluation of extra virgin olive oil and therefore to be able to distinguish quality extra virgin olive oils.
The Team
Olive Epitome has a team of people with different professional backgrounds and experience with local and international firms in commerce. This combined experience and knowledge in the promotion of recognized high quality products is added value for our product. In order to familiarize and study our product we traveled extensively in Greece. We discovered different varieties of olives and met the people who are devoted to this profession for generations. This exciting journey inspired us to create Olive Epitome which represents olive oil varieties and brand names with high quality as our trademark. Our aim is to make known our product to the discerning consumer and to share the magic in the variety of tastes and aromas with an emphasis on the benefits to our health.
