Koroneiki

The flagship of Greek olive varieties and most famous worldwide. It is cultivated extensively throughout the Peloponnese and Crete but lately it can be found all over the country and in many countries around the world. It is a small-fruited variety and is suitable for the production of premium quality extra virgin olive oil. The juice extracted from the Koroneiki variety Its medium fruity aromas and medium to intense bitter and spicy flavor distinguish.

Tsounati

It is mainly cultivated in the mountains of Crete and central Peloponnese and belongs to the small-fruited olive varieties. It is suitable for the production of very good quality olive oil, which is distinguished for the medium fruity aromas and a perfect balance between bitter and spicy taste.

Nemoutiana (Olympia)

It is mainly cultivated in mountainous areas in the western region of Arkadia (Peloponnese) and in Ancient Olympia. It is a small-fruited variety and it is suitable for the production of very good quality olive oil. It can be distinguished by the complexity of its fragrances, the intensity of its bitterness as well as its medium to intense spicy sensation. The Nemoutiana variety is also known for its very high level of phenols.

Manaki

It is cultivated mainly in the eastern Peloponnese but we can also come across this variety in areas of central Greece. It has a medium size fruit and it is suitable for the production of excellent quality olive oil. It is distinguished by a delicate taste like a medium fruity aroma, a delicate bitter flavour and a medium spicy taste.

Kolovi

It is cultivated mainly in the southern part of the island of Lesvos and it produces a medium sized fruit. It is suitable for the production of premium quality olive oil and is distinguished by its intense fruity aroma and the complexity of its fragrances. It has a bitter and spicy flavour of medium intensity.

Thasitiki

It is mainly cultivated on the island of Thassos and along the coast of eastern Macedonia and Thrace. It has a medium sized fruit and it is suitable for the production of very good quality olive oil which is distinguished, depending on the maturity of the fruit, by an intense fruity aroma and a medium to intense bitter and spicy taste.

Makri

It is cultivated throughout the western region of Thrace and mostly on the coast of Rodopi and Evros. It produces a medium sized fruit and it is adequate for the production of very good quality olive oil. It is distinguished by an intense and rich fruity aroma and a delicate bitter and spicy flavor when savored.

Amfissis

It is cultivated mainly in central Greece and eastern Thessaly. It produces a large sized fruit and very good quality olive oil with a medium fruity aroma of almond and fruits of the forest. It is also distinguished by a delicate bitter and spicy sensation which creates a balanced taste.

Chalkidikis

It is cultivated throughout northern Greece and mostly in Chalkidiki and the coast of Serres, Kavala and Xanthi but we also encounter it in areas of Thessaly. It produces a large sized fruit and very good quality olive oil. It has a fruity aroma of medium intensity, a delicate bitter taste and a medium spicy flavor.

Arbequina

It is the flagship of Spanish olive varieties known throughout the world. It is cultivated extensively throughout Spain but also in other countries of the world. It produces a small sized fruit and a very good quality olive oil. It is distinguished by the complexity of its aromas with notes of unripe fruits, almond and flowers of the forest. These olive varieties have a medium to intense fruity sensation and a balanced bitter and spicy taste.

Kolyreiki

It is cultivated to a limited extent in the region of Ilia and particularly in Kolyri, from where it takes its name. It has a medium size fruit and it is suitable for the production of excellent quality olive oil and green table olives. It is distinguished for its aromas reminiscent of bitter grass and herbs and for its balanced bitter and spicy taste.

Botsikoelia

It is mainly cultivated in the region of Ilia and more specifically in the wider area of Ancient Olympia. It is a small-fruited variety and it is suitable for the production of excellent quality olive oil. A rare variety which is distinguished by the balance of bitter and spicy taste combined with the diverse aromas of artichoke and fresh herbs.

Megaritiki

It is cultivated extensively in the area of Attica, in the northern region of Argolis, in Viotia, in Evia but recently it can also be found in all northern Greece. It is among the medium fruited varieties and is suitable for the production of excellent quality olive oil and green or black table olives. It is distinguished by its complex fruity aroma of flowers, red fruits and citruses with a medium intensity of bitter and spicy taste.

Adramytini

It is mainly cultivated on the island of Lesvos but it can also be found on the island of Chios and to a lesser extent on the island of Samothraki. It is among the medium fruited varieties and is suitable for the production of excellent quality olive oil. Depending on the extraction method, aromas with notes of freshly cut grass, unripe banana and flower blossoms emerge while a prolonged touch of spices is detected in the taste.

Agriniou

It is mainly cultivated in Central Greece particularly in the wider region of Etoloakarnania. It is a large fruited variety and is suitable for the production of excellent quality olive oil and table olives. Agriniou variety has been perfectly acclimatized to the climatic conditions of the area for centuries, while it ferments naturally much faster than its relative Amfissis. It is extremely tasty with a considerable difference in the core to flesh ratio.

Kalamon

It is mainly cultivated in the southern Peloponnese and the regions of Etoloakarnania and Phthiotis but also all around the country. It is a renowned variety worldwide and produces among the most famous table olives. It is among the large fruited varieties and is suitable for the production of excellent quality table olives. It is known for its unique shape and distinct flavour.
