The Cheretakis family draws its proud origin from the Byzantine times, when it settled on the island of Crete and specifically in the area of Kissamos, at the northwestern end of the prefecture of Chania. Their dedication to the olive tree counts already three generations while the family’s vision remains unchanged in time and is encapsulated in three words: quality – honesty – responsibility.<\/p>\r\n

The family’s organic olive groves are located at a high enough altitude to enjoy the Mediterranean climate with the sea breeze and the beneficial winds and the soils rich in microelements that favour the development of authentic aromas.\r\nHarvesting begins in October, when the fruit is still unripe, and is carried out exclusively by mechanical methods, thus ensuring the integrity of the fruit. The olive extraction process begins a few hours after the fruit is picked and is carried out using the cold pressing method in their own two-phase mill, in order to preserve the nutritional value and aromas of the olive oil to the maximum. After filtering, the olive oil is stored in stainless steel tanks and under controlled temperature conditions in order to maintain both its quality and its longevity.<\/p>\r\n
