In a wide area of Argentina different varieties of olive trees are cultivated namely, \u201cArbequina\u201d, \u201cPicual\u201d, \u201cFrantoio\u201d, \u201cHojiblanca\u201d as well as the internationally known variety \u201cArauco\u201d. For 2017-2018 production in Argentina reached a historical high of 43.000 tones. Consumption is stable at 6.000 tones and exports are expected to surpass 36.000 tones. An increased performance of 116% in comparison to the previous year.\r\n\r\nIn addition, a decrease in the price of extra virgin olive oil is noted at the end of May 2018. The effected countries are: Spain with \u20ac2,61\/kg (-34%), Italy with \u20ac4,03\/kg (-32%), Greece \u20ac2,50\/kg (-31%) and Tunisia \u20ac3,43 (-19%).[\/vc_custom_heading][vc_button
