Alsea Selection EVOO
Alsea’s Selection Extra Virgin Olive Oil is a monovarietal product of the Agriniou variety. The fruit is harvested in November having acquired a reddish white colour (turning colour = medium ripe) and is extracted on the same day.
The organoleptic properties consist of complex aromas and flavours perfectly balanced in their intensity. In particular, the fruity aroma of freshly cut grass, tomato, banana and forest fruits of delicate intensity is combined with delicate notes of spicy and bitter flavour.

Description
Alsea Olive Oil – Alsea Selection EVOO Alsea was founded in 1997, however standardization activity began 20 years later in order to produce a superior quality extra virgin olive oil and table olives. Added interest was to reintroduce flavours and aromas as well as methods that the era of industrialization neglected in its path. The olive trees are located in the area of the Lake Trichonida, in the region of Etoloakarnania in Central Greece, starting from lakeside stretches to slopes where the angle of the surface and the diversity of the soil texture, in combination with the particular climate conditions render rich and complex aromas to the final product. Sparsely planted olive trees of a young age (1-2 years old) coexist with century old olive trees which despite the time span still offer their precious fruit. The olive harvest starts from October and lasts till end of November. The harvest is done mostly by hand and by mechanical means in order to preserve the integrity of the fruit. The oil extraction follows the cold pressed method in a standard well equipped and technologically modern olive mill. The olive oil is finally stored in stainless steel oxygen-free containers, in an ambient temperature of 16oC. Packaging is performed entirely by hand in elegant dark-coloured glass bottles without the use of a pump or other devices and only upon order. The varieties cultivated for the production of Alsea Selection EVOO is Agriniou. *Alsea (“alsos” in Greek means small forest) was a nymph, protector of nature, who was also cited in Homer.Additional information
